SEED Grants

SEED Grants are intended to support Mecklenburg County creatives with opportunities for mentorship or recognition of the quality of their creative work. Each SEED Grant recipient will receive a $3,000 award.

Each year, ASC Fellows have the opportunity to nominate a creative individual from their community to receive a grant of $3,000 to enhance their creative practice. Nominees must be creatives based in Mecklenburg County, over the age of 18, and either mentored by ASC Fellows or recognized by them for their deserving work. Created in 2017, these Seed Grants, now offered annually, are designed to help recipients expand their practice, experiment with new tools, and acquire additional skills to elevate their overall work. Many of these nominees move on to receive additional grants through the competitive grant process of Artist Support Grants, Creative Mecklenburg Grants, and even the ASC Fellowships themselves.
